Back?!

 Woah guys! I just figured out how to log back into my account! This is amazing!! I am so excited to post about new forms of media I am taking in! There has been a lot you’ve missed, so let us just start from what I am viewing now! 

For movies, I have been watching some Alfred Hitchcock films such as “Psycho” and “The Man Who Knew Too Much”. I have previously seen his work of “Rear Window” and many of his movies were uploaded to Netflix. I just got home for the summer so luckily Netflix lets me log in again! #letcollegekidsusenetflix Another film I am viewing is “Austenland” and I loveeee an adaptation.

For TV shows, I am in between things. I recently finished Ginny & Georgia, which was…complex… to say the least. I am wrapping up the sixth season of What We Do In The Shadows which I will review on later. It is probably one of the best shows ever made. Seriously. It’s on Hulu. Watch ASAP. As my guilty pleasure I watch Love Island USA. I won’t comment on that show because those are real people. Some follow up shows recommended to me were Netflix originals, Sirens, and Forever. Netflix is having its moment I guess…

As for books, I am currently reading “Reading Lolita in Tehran” and listening to the audiobook of “Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay”. The first is a new book I found at a pop up at my university. I picked it up because Iran has such a complex and interesting history. The book also focuses on women’s education which is one of the most important things to me. As a woman who has access to higher education, I do not take that for granted and I believe every person should have this right. On the same note, the second novel also focuses on the deep friendship between two women in post war Naples. One who got her education and one who could not. Both brilliant. It is the third book in the series.

I am currently not listening to any podcasts because I have the audiobook, but I will take recommendations. I am home for only 2 weeks and I will maximize my media time! Thank you!

Movie #19: The Materialists

I was on a rom-com wave and wanted to go to the theaters, so I decided to see "The Materialists" directed by Celine Song in 2025 starring Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, and Chris Evans. It is safe to say that I had extremely high hopes.  Johnson stars as Lucy, a professional matchmaker who attends a wedding of a couple she matched. Podcast #1 : Scamanda

 This is my first podcast post as I am not a frequent podcast listener but this was recommended to me by a friend. I finished it up today on my walk and the whole thing made me mad. If I ever meet this Amanda girl, I swear. The podcast was produced in May 2023 by Charlie Webster. She talks us through the whole situation. Do not get thrown off by the fact that she is British, this incident occurs in the US. It is a true crime case that has you asking so many questions. The case starts with an email sent to Nancy, an investigative journalist who states that a woman by the name of Amanda C. Reilly does not have cancer. Nancy begins her deep dive into Amanda's blog which posts daily updates of her treatments. Amanda is constantly asking for donations as well for either chemo or new drug trials or to pay for her house.
