Movie #4 : Prom Night

In need of a 2000's poorly produced slasher film? Look no further than "Prom Night" featuring Brittany Snow was the lead. You may know her from "Pitch Perfect" but in this movie she is actually a blonde. This movie follows her character, Donna, who's entire family was murder by her former teacher who became obsessed with her. As she struggles to go back to normal life 3 years later, AS ANYONE WOULD, she gets ready for her prom. But of course, on her very special night, her family's killer escapes from prisoner and he is coming back for her.  Now, this movie is not very good. The special effects were poor, and the plot was predictable, but it had one hell of a cast. Everyone for every show was on it. Stiles' dad from "Teen Wolf", Will's ex-wife from "Glee", Paul from "Ginny & Georgia" and even IDRIS ELBA. Absolutely insane. It was directed by Nelson McCormick in 2008 and was a fun quick movie to watch. If you are...

TV Show #1 : Insecure

All I have to say is that Issa Rae is probably one of the most talented people in media today. She started off with her web series, "Awkward Black Girl", then transformed it into a fantastic show called "Insecure". She recently starred in the "Barbie" movie as President Barbie and she was flawless in it. She can be hilarious on screen while also delivering heart felt moments. She can truly do it all. I am really excited to see what is next in store for Issa. "Insecure" follows Issa Dee as she navigates being 29 while also stuck in a relationship that's not working and at a job that is unfulfilling. Her boyfriend, Lawrence, is struggling to regain confidence after his tech app failed and it puts strain on the relationship. Issa heavily relies on her best friend Molly for stability and advice. Molly, a big-time lawyer, has a hard time being appreciated at her job and finding a man who will be able to give her what she wants. Molly and Issa met...

Movie #3 : A Knight's Tale

I want to start this review by talking about Heath Ledger. Heath Ledger was such an amazing actor who unfortunately passed at the age of 28. He is known for movies such as "10 Things I Hate About You" "Brokeback Mountain" as well as "A Knight's Tale". Seeing him on screen makes me feel sad but also happy in a way because although I know he would have gone on to do more great roles, I am glad he was immortalized on film. He was a kind person and stood up for others. He will always be missed. Heath Ledger was the main character in the movie "A Knight's Tale" playing William. William, who was just a squire, decides to impersonate a knight after his master dies. He works with his two companions and meets more on the way to great a strong group of friends. He begins to joust which he has a natural talent for. This talent not only brings love but also suspicion. Will he be able to compete without being found out?  The movie, directed by Brian ...

Movie #2 : Barbie

Now guys, do not be too jealous of me because I have seen the Barbie movie. Or maybe do be jealous because it was an amazing movie! I watched it in theaters with a bunch of my friends and we all wore pink of course. I ate M&M's and sour gummy worms while chugging a large root beer. One thing about me is that I love rootbeer. Make sure when you see this in theaters that you go to the bathroom beforehand as to not miss any parts of the movie.  "Barbie" starts out in Barbieland, a matriarchy where there is physicist Barbie, president Barbie, journalist Barbie and just about every type of Barbie you can imagine. There are also Kens but who really cares. The story follows stereotypical Barbie as she goes through her day having the best day ever as she usually does. That is until during her big summer blowout movie, she has thoughts of death. No doll should be having thoughts of death. What will she do about this internal crisis? You must watch the movie to find out! I bare...

Book #1 : We Are The Brennans

Skrrrt, crash! That is what I assume the car accident that Sunday Brennan, the main character of this book got into sounded like. The book "We Are The Brennans" begins with Sunday getting into a drunk driving accident while living in LA. When in the hospital, she awakes to see her older brother, Denny, who had been called as her emergency contact. Denny had flown all the way from New York City, the city that Sunday had fled 5 years prior. She left behind her family, her fiancee, and a secret that threatens to destroy her family. Denny convinces her to come home and we watch as Sunday and all those around her navigate this dynamic change, or rather try to come back to the original dynamic. I don't want to summarize the entire story as it will have too many spoilers, but this book had many twists and turns up until the last page. Originally I bought this book since it had the same last name as me and I wasn't sure if I was going to read it, but once I started, I couldn...

Movie #1 : Warm Bodies

Eeek! First post! I am so excited to be writing about a movie that I have always wanted to see but unfortunately was never on the right streaming platforms until now. Warm Bodies is a movie I watched with my sister a few nights ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am not sure if my sister did, but I don't care. Warm Bodies is a 2013 movie directed by Johnathan Levine. This is based on the novel "Warm Bodies" by Isaac Marion. I actually did not know there was a book until I did background research, so I will definitely be getting a copy!  The story is set during the zombie apocalypse and follows the internal monolog of a zombie who wants to be more. While hunting for human brains, he finds a group of teenagers searching for medicine to bring back to their human colony. The zombie makes eye contact with Julie, one of the teenagers, and is instantly infatuated. But, he is still hungry and in true zombie fashion eats the brain of another teenager. During this, he is able to gai...

Introduction!

Hi everyone! I am Kennice, or Kenbo, a 19 year old girl, and I am creating this blog because I intake tons of media and love to discuss it. My family and friends are tired of me talking about it, so I thought a blog would be perfect! Now this is not a super intellectual page as I watch things for fun but I still will explore the deeper meaning and hopefully better my writing skills! Thank you!

Welcome!

Welcome! I will start posting as soon as I figure out how to work a blog!
