Movie #10 : Beautiful Disaster

 As the occasional Wattpad reader, I could tell right off the bat that this movie was from Wattpad. And of course when I looked it up, it was from Wattpad studios. It was even funnier when one of my friends I was watching it with started to realize she had read the book version on Wattpad! Even the names in this movie were Wattpad with the main characters being Travis Maddox and Abby Abernathy. Crazy. We decided to watched this movie because we were bored and I honestly do not regret it.

The plot follows Abby running away from her gambling father to go to college. She just wanted to be a normal girl who’s uptight and wears sweaters all the time. When she gets to school, her friend America’s boyfriend Shepley (both Wattpad names) takes them to an underground fighting ring where Travis is fighting. Travis and Abby have an awkward meeting and later become unfriendly friends and Travis states he wants to date Abby. They then create a dare that if Travis wins a match with the other guy never touching him, Abby has to sleep in his bed. If he loses, he has to go a month without sex. Watch to see who wins. 

My favorite part of this was Shepley’s character played by Austin North. He’s known for playing Topper in “Outer Banks” and is always playing a dumb guy. And he plays it well. He was funny, especially in a scene where he was crying to the “After” movie. Loved it. Ironic because Dylan Sprouse, who is in the “After” series plays Travis.

Ultimately, if you are looking for a bad Wattpad movie to live out your bad boy boyfriend this is the movie for you. It was directed in 2023 by Roger Kumble and made 3.9 million in the box office. You can watch on Hulu now.
