Movie #8 : Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar

If you want to watch a Florida version of "50 Shades of Grey" watch this film!

I'm joking! I only say this because the main guy is Jamie Dornan, and he does have relations with both of the main characters. "Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar" was the perfect movie to watch on a plane and had tons of funny moments and an amazing cast. It also had the color scheme of cyan blue and neon pink which I loved. It was directed by Josh Greenbaum in 2021.

This film's plot is just like its title. Only, with a twist. Best friends Barb, played by Annie Mumolo, and Star, played by Kirsten Wiig, decide to go to Vista Del Mar after getting fired from their jobs at a furniture store. They are looking to get their shimmer back and show off their culottes. If you don't know was culottes are, don't worry, you'll find out. There is only one problem. An evil mastermind is out to set killer mosquitos on Vista Del Mar at the same time with her lacky, Edgar, who is played by Dornan. Watch to see if Barb and Star survive long enough to find their shimmer!

This movie was so funny and silly. It was poorly done and had stupid comedy, but I loved it. It was just one of those cheesy movies done that I'm sure the cast had a ton of fun filming. I also really loved how it showcased two women in their 40s being best friends and having an amazing girl's trip with each other. Barb and Star's bond was truly unbreakable, and it inspired me to find this type of relationship. 

If you just want a stupid movie to watch starring amazing actors, watch "Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar". I kind of want to go their now!

I was on a rom-com wave and wanted to go to the theaters, so I decided to see "The Materialists" directed by Celine Song in 2025 starring Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, and Chris Evans. Podcast #1 : Scamanda

 This is my first podcast post as I am not a frequent podcast listener but this was recommended to me by a friend. I finished it up today on my walk and the whole thing made me mad. If I ever meet this Amanda girl, I swear. The podcast was produced in May 2023 by Charlie Webster. She talks us through the whole situation. Do not get thrown off by the fact that she is British, this incident occurs in the US. It is a true crime case that has you asking so many questions.
