 You might be like wait I thought this was a book? And you would be right...but recently they have adapted it to a miniseries! This is such a popular trend. No new ideas in Hollywood. Remake after remake, adaptations that do not even live up to the book. Oh well. Let's get into this one. "We Were Liars" is an Amazon Prime adaptation of E. Lockhart's book of the same name starring Emily Alyn Lind as Cadence Sinclair Eastman, our protagonist. Cadence is the first grandchild of the illustrious Sinclair family with Johnny, played by Joseph Zada, and Mirren, played by Esther McGregor. The final member of their group, the proclaimed "Liars" is Gat, played by Shubham Maheshwari. Gat is the nephew of Johnny's mother boyfriend. Sounds more complicated than it is. Pretty boy Charlie Plummer has done it again! He must (should never) be stopped! Truly the people's princess of indie movies. Step out of the way, Lucas Hedges!  "National Anthem" was a phenomenal film directed by Luke Gilford in 2023 starring Plummer as Dylan, a construction worker in New Mexico with troubled family life desperately looking for an escape. One day, he gets picked up to work at a ~unique~ ranch, where he meets the gorgeous Sky played by Eve Lindley. From there, he begins to bond with this group of ranchers who provide him a space to be himself. This movie had been on my list for a while, so I was so excited to watch it! A film done with such grace, such truthfulness, it brought tears to my eyes.  I am sick to my stomach writing this post. I love this show with my whole heart and to have it end feels like a piece of my heart was ripped out. This show was truly one of a kind and every episode made me love the show even more. Every character, every scheme, every season was so enjoyable to watch. There is no show that can compare. And I love vampires!!! "What We Do In The Shadows" ran from 2019-2024 and was notably produced by Taika Waititi. The show had an all-star cast: Natasia Demetriou - Nadja, Kayvan Novak - Nandor, Harvey Guillen - Guillermo, Mark Prosch - Colin Robinson, and Matt Berry - Laszlo. I was on a rom-com wave and wanted to go to the theaters, so I decided to see "The Materialists" directed by Celine Song in 2025 starring Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, and Chris Evans. It is safe to say that I had extremely high hopes.  Johnson stars as Lucy, a professional matchmaker who attends a wedding of a couple she matched. There, she meets Harry (Pascal), the brother of the groom who is an immensely wealthy yet charming man. They have immediate chemistry but are interrupted by her ex-boyfriend John (Evans) who is working as caterer. As romance progresses between Harry and Lucy, a tragic event occurs at her workplace that makes her question love and her career. Lucy must decide between comfort and passion.  My hopes came crashing down by the end of this movie. Song is an extremely talented director and while the production and shots were very beautiful and A24-approved, the story lost me. There she meets the wild, yet kind Miss Elizabeth Charming, played by Jennifer Coolidge. With Elizabeth, Jane struggles through the imaginary world of Jane Austen, unable to tell what is real and what is not. Jane meets two men: a Mr. Darcy-esque man Mr. Nobley and a stableman Martin.  My friend called me to go see this movie with her friend from college and I had no plans, so I went. She knew I love watching movies and I have seen the other Hercule Poirot movies. They were nothing too special, but I enjoy a good mystery now and then and I feel like these movies always had a good twist. And of course, who could say no to a movie with Michelle Yeoh. "A Haunting in Venice" takes place in you guessed it, Venice. Hercule gets commissioned by his old friend, Ariadne Oliver played by Tina Fey, to come to a children's party and then a seance after. Hercule, forever the skeptic, reluctantly follows his friend, where they experience a particularly creepy seance which was wonderfully performed by Yeoh's character Joyce Reynolds.  This novel was written by Celeste Ng in late 2022, but I just found in featured at my local Barnes & Noble. I picked it up and decided to buy it because I had read her other novel, "Everything I Never Told You", and watched the mini-series for "Little Fires Everywhere". I should probably read the book version of it, but I am discouraged since I already watched the show. But the show was absolutely amazing. And "Everything I Never Told You", was a novel full of twists and turns that I really enjoyed reading. It took me only a few days to read "Our Missing Hearts". "Our Missing Hearts" follows 12-year-old Bird Gardner as he navigates a world without his mother. His mother Margaret Miu, a poet whose words were radicalized against the government.  One of the best movies I have ever seen. The main characters were two lesbians trying to lose their virginity. Talk about relatable. The movie stars upcoming actors such as Ayo Edebiri, Rachel Sennott, Nicholas Galitzine, and Ruby Cruz. It also starred former football running back, Marshawn Lynch. He is hilarious, I would have guessed he was also in the acting business. "Bottoms" was released to select theaters in late August of 2023 and was directed by Emma Seligman. Seligman and Sennott are best friends who wrote this movie together while they were in college together.  The movie follows PJ, played by Sennott, and Josie, played by Edebiri, as lesbian best friends who are categorized at the "ugly, untalented, gays". They have crushes on two other best friends, Isabel, played by Havana Rose Liu, and Brittany, played by Kaia Gerber.  "A Twink and A Redhead" is a podcast that features two best friends, Grant (twink) and Ashley (redhead). The podcast centers around their relationship as they have been best friends since high school. Each episode has a new topic in which they talk about themselves surrounding this topic. Like in "Jobs", Grant discusses how he worked for tv show and got a cease-and-desist order from them after talking about it on social media. In "Dating" they have their first ever guest who is Ashley's current boyfriend Eli. At the end of each episode, they do a For the Good of the Group segment where they share something that they have been thinking or something that happened to them this week.  My mom and I decided to watch this new interactive movie featuring Laura Marano as the main lead, Cami. I haven't done one of these for a while and I saw on TikTok that it would be fun. When doing an interactive movie, you are posed with certain questions about what actions the main character should do. Based on what you choose, you will have alternative endings. I like that I was able to control who she ended up with, but it gave me massive amounts of stress that I made the wrong choice for her.  The movie follows Cami, a sound engineer who is in a long-term relationship with divorce lawyer Paul. Cami struggles with commitment after her parents' divorce and remarriage. She sees a pyschic who says there will be three men in her life.  "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" was a thin book that I picked up at the airport mostly because it was thin, and I needed something to read. I wasn't sure if I was ever going to get around to reading it but I finally did and I enjoyed it. It took me a while to get into because it is very description heavy and not my usual genre. But I find that I enjoy older books. I want to start reading more thin books made over 50 years ago. Might be my new thing. It was written in 1962 by Shirley Jackson. She is a very famous author who I think I will be reading more of. The book was from the perspective of Mary Katherine Blackwood or Merricat. Merricat was an 18-year-old girl living with her sister Constance and their uncle Julian. They lived in a large old home and were widely shunned by the townspeople because the rest of their family had been murdered by arsenic being put in their sugar during a family dinner.  "Theater Camp" is a new movie release in 2023 directed by Molly Gordon and Nick Lieberman. This was both of their first times directing. The movie has an all-star cast including Gordon, Ben Platt, Noah Galvin, Jimmy Tatro, Ayo Edebiri, Patti Harrison, and more. I have seen all of these people in shows and movies before and I love them all. I feel like they were perfectly cast for this movie and many of them definitely went to theater camp when they were kids.  The movie follows Troy, played by Tatro, trying to run his mother's theater camp despite having the personality of Justin Bieber and no financial experience. His mother fell into a coma, so now he must run the camp while it is on the brink of financial ruin. Teachers at the camp, Amos and Rebecca-Diane, put on a play called Joan, Still, in honor of Troy's mother. The all work to save the camp and make this play happen.  When I found out this movie was based on a true story, I teared up a bit because the story was so emotional. The main character went through so much on her own and is very resilient. I originally watched clips of this movie on TikTok which is how I found out about it. I have been planning on watching it for a while, so this morning I decided to put it on with my sister. She loved it as well. "Wildflower" was released in 2023 and directed by Matt Smukler.  The movie starts out with the love story between Sharon and Derek who get married and have a child named Bambi, Bea for short. The only difference with Sharon and Derek's story is that both of them are mentally disabled here they have the brain of a child. Bea grows up to be an independent young woman who helps take care of her parents. But suddenly she lands in a coma. You will spend going back and forth from the past leading up to the coma to Bea's inner monologue inside the coma. I really enjoyed how the story go...

 "No Hard Feelings" directed by Gene Stupnitsky and was released into theaters in June of 2023. Now I was putting of seeing this movie, so I bought it at home with my family off Amazon Prime from $16.99. I really like Jennifer Lawrence, but I was not sure if the plot was for me. I am not a huge fan of age gap movies, but this one... it was funny. In "No Hard Feelings" J-Law plays 32-year-old Maddie who is originally from Montauk.  I was really skeptical about this movie because it is an Adam Sandler film and those tend to be...bad. No offense to Adam Sandler, he's a great actor but many of his movies that he produced are boy funny. Movies I like to say are only funny to immature boys. I think I liked this one because it centers around girls and what it's like to be a middle school girl. One of the toughest times in a girl's life.  This is my first podcast post as I am not a frequent podcast listener but this was recommended to me by a friend. I finished it up today on my walk and the whole thing made me mad.  As the occasional Wattpad reader, I could tell right off the bat that this movie was from Wattpad. And of course when I looked it up, it was from Wattpad studios. It was even funnier when one of my friends I was watching it with started to realize she had read the book version on Wattpad!
